Your ticket to RYA Day Skipper qualification.

RYA Day Skipper (Tidal) This 5-day course of navigation and seamanship is a widely recognised RYA qualification and necessary for bareboat charters with many of the sailing holiday companies.

Pre-course experience 5 days, 100 miles, 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht
Assumed Knowledge Basic navigation and helmsmanship. It is recommended that you attend the Day Skipper shore based course and competent crew course before taking this practical course
Course content Pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation
Ability after course Can skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day
Minimum duration 5 days

This course is the first in the RYA series where you take charge of the boat on short passages with plenty of advice and help from the instructor. Ideal for people over 14 with basic navigation and sailing ability and who have spent at least 5 days at sea (including 4 night hours) and have logged 100 miles. People who have attended an RYA Competent Crew Course will have a definite advantage. By the end of the course you should be able to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day.

Come sailing in the sunny, tidal waters around Gibraltar and visit Morocco, Ceuta and Spain.

Warm sunny climate and friendly instruction with fun and adventure at the centre of every course. We work hard and play hard so expect to be worn out at the end of the week but with many memorable moments on the way.

What's included. Accommodation onboard. Breakfast, lunch and up to 3 evening meals. Foul weather clothing. Mooring fees and fuel.
